Could your school Run on Sun?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if schools were run on cheap and clean energy? Friends of the Earth wants to help make it happen.

Schools Run on Sun www.foe.co.uk/runonsun is Friends of the Earth’s brand new campaign designed to make it much easier for your children’s school – and thousands of others across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland – to be powered by solar energy. Schools could save up to £8,000 per year with solar panels – more money to spend on things like library books, playground facilities and bee-friendly nature gardens.

There are already lots of ways to get solar panels, such as through council grants, rental agreements, and crowd-funding schemes. Now Friends of the Earth wants to make it easier for schools to afford the upfront costs – it is asking the Government to enable schools to borrow, and pay it back using the savings generated.
