Henry House in Worthing specialises in and offers a full programme of swimming lessons for babies, children and nervous adults in their very own luxurious hot hydrotherapy pool. The water is heated to 95°F and their salt water ecosanitiser keeps the water skin and eye friendly so is ideal for children or anyone with sensitive skin or asthma.
All swimming lessons at Henry House have a maximum of 5 pupils in a class, with the teacher also in the water to support, encourage and assist at all stages. They find that pupils gain confidence and progress quickly through their nationally recognised STA award scheme, aided by the friendly relaxed atmosphere and plenty of individual attention from the teacher. There are classes after school during the week and all day on a Saturday so why not enrol for September?
As well as the swimming lessons, they also offer adult only hydrotherapy sessions, private hire of the pool for families or other groups, dedicated baby hours as well as a wide range of therapies in their treatment rooms.

Learn About Fishing and the Environment
Angling4Education offer a variety of accredited courses for children and young people all over the county to access exciting fishing and environment courses. Angling4Education delivers fun and interactive educational provision for young people around the sport of angling. Their mission is to use the sport to engage participants and give them opportunities to grow personally and socially through the delivery of meaningful and inspiring projects and courses. Courses are suitable for both beginners and more experienced anglers covering aspects such as wildlife identification, environmental conservation, fishing techniques, fishing tackle, water craft and much more. Lengths of courses vary from between five full day sessions and ten full day sessions.
Angling4Education believe that young people can benefit hugely from the opportunity to learn outside in the natural environment. Using a mentoring and experiential learning approach, which plays directly to many participants’ strengths, children and young people also have the opportunity to build a variety of personal and social skills such as problem solving, patience, teamwork and communication. A common thread in all the courses is to encourage an emotional connection between participants and the environment therefore prompting wildlife and environmental conservation.
The Angling4Education staff team comprises of a dedicated and talented group of educationalists, professional angling coaches, outdoor instructors, professional youth workers and specialist trained staff. They are also a county council approved provider working with numerous schools across the region.
The Theatre Workshop
At the Theatre Workshop you can now act, sing and dance on Saturdays in Chichester. From September, the Theatre Workshop is celebrating the opening of its new Chichester School, on Saturdays from 10am-1pm at Central C of E Primary School.
The Theatre Workshop has established a reputation for excellence, providing performing arts training since 2003. With proven success the training centres of distinction are open to all young people aged 6 to 18 years.
A professional team of teachers, all established performers themselves, run weekly workshops in all aspects of theatre, TV and film, singing and dance. The unique classes prepare students for regular professional and amateur performances, exams, festivals and auditions.
Just last term many students secured new roles on stage and screen including To Kill a Mockingbird at Regents Park and numerous screen roles including Game of Thrones , CBBC’s Hank Zipzer, Dr Who and Dani’s Castle to name a few. Locally, Max Newitt and Harvey Pearce were confirmed to star in Chichester Festival Theatre’s production of Gypsy alongside Imelda Staunton.

Stagecoach Theatre Arts in West Sussex
Stagecoach Theatre Arts is dedicated to providing quality education in the performing arts. All schools are inspected annually and all staff are checked through the DBS. Your local schools in West Sussex run weekly classes for all children aged from 4 to 18 years. No experience is necessary, there is no audition. Enthusiasm is all that’s required.
Classes run for three hours a weekend (one and a half hours for Early Stages classes, 4-6 year olds) and are limited to just 15 students. The students attend an hour each of acting, singing and drama. The classes are led by experienced professionals who know how to motivate and encourage. The work builds their confidence and they can sense the fun, excitement and drama surrounding the performing arts. These are skills for life.
The Early Stages students are trained by experienced teachers who know how to fire the imaginations of the very young child.
As well as in-house class-work, shows, workshops and examinations, students have the opportunity to participate in local and national events, including Charity Stagecoach Showcases at regional Theatres, National Performances in London's West End and national choir events. Stagecoach students from the West Sussex Schools have provided the Children's Choir for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Hawth Theatre in Crawley for its past six visits. Many of the schools run additional dance and performance troupes who perform extensively at outside events.
Stagecoach Crawley and Hove are holding Discovery Days where children and teenagers aged 4-18 years can experience Stagecoach for free! During the session participants will be able to take part in singing, acting and dancing classes with professional teachers. Parents can watch the classes and then have the chance to speak to the Principal and teachers. Refreshments will be available and there will also be an opportunity to sign up for the term.
The Crawley Discovery Day is on Saturday 13 September at Maidenbower Junior School and the Hove Discovery Day is on Sunday 14 September at Blatchington Mill School.

Perform is a unique type of children’s drama school for 4-12s. Focusing on child development, they use a mix of drama, dance and singing specially formulated to bring out every child’s true potential. Next term’s theme for 4-8s is Outer Space which takes children on an intergalactic adventure with a mission to save the Universe. For 8-12s, it’s a modern interpretation of a classic fairy tale in the rockstastic Cinderella Rocks. For both age groups, it’s going to be great fun as well as a unique learning experience for each child and the chance to make new friends
